News & Events2009 Utilities Division Summer Meeting CancelledDue to expected low attendance as a result of travel restrictions and other effects of the poor economy, the National Safety Council and the leadership of the Utilities Division will be cancelling the July Utilities Division Meeting. We will begin planning future meetings and will notify the membership when arrangements for the next meeting have been made. NSC logo’d Utilities Division shirts are now available for individual order directly through Creative Resources, the shirt vendor. 2008 Billy D. Young ScholarshipThe Billy D. Young Scholarship, sponsored by the National Safety Council Utilities Division, is offered to those who are pursuing a degree in either safety or industrial hygiene and plan to go into the safety and or health fields after graduation. The scholarship award amount for 2008 increased to $1,500. Applications for the 2008 scholarship were due May 30, 2008 and a recipeint was chosen. Billy D. Certified Utility Safety Administrator Program (CUSA)The Certified Utility Safety Administrator Program (CUSA) provides formal recognition to utility industry safety administrators for their experience and knowledge of safety practices. It is the first industry-oriented safety certification offering individual professional recognition to those in the utility safety profession. CUSA is managed and directed by the National Safety Council and its Utilities Division. |
